This week I was fortunate to have two close encounters with owls. First I watched a Long-Eared Owl (Hornuggla / Asio otus) take a nap in a bush a short walk from my home. The second observation was a Tawny Owl (Kattuggla / Strix aluco) who enjoyed the last sunbeams of the day from its nesting box.
